Our organic refined blueberry seed carrier oil for pharmaceuticals originates from the plant with the botanical name Vaccinium myrtillus. In international practice, the product is designated as Blueberry seed organic refined carrier oil for pharmaceuticals. The composition of the product includes no preservatives or colourants. All substances in it come from the seeds, which develop in large numbers in the small dark blue fruits of the plant. The fruits ripen in summer, and the oil of their seeds is rich in linoleic and linolenic acid, which belong to the polyunsaturated fatty acids. The plant that bears these fruits is a low deciduous shrub of the Ericaceae family, naturally distributed in the forests of Europe and Northern Asia. The shrubs grow in Bulgaria under organic cultivation, without synthetic fertilisers and pesticides. Cultivation without synthetic agents makes the product entirely organic, which is why its composition contains only substances accumulated in the seeds naturally. The plant origin of the ingredients is preserved after refining, through which the oil is obtained. Refining purifies the liquid of volatile accompanying substances and part of the pigments, so its aroma remains pure and light. The lightness of the aroma is combined with freshness and fruity notes. The aroma has a weak and pleasant intensity, while the colour ranges from light yellow to pale red. The colour is determined by the seeds, as they are the only raw material and the only source of pigments in the final product. In addition, the product has a liquid consistency and a clear appearance throughout its volume.

Application
Organic refined blueberry seed carrier oil serves in pharmaceutical manufacturing as the oil base of ointments intended for external application to the skin. Ointments contain the product in their fatty base together with waxes, since the waxes give the mixture a semi-solid form. The liquid consistency of the raw material allows even distribution of active ingredients in oily solutions for external use, in which it serves as the carrier. The solutions acquire a light yellow to pale red tint from the raw material. Water-in-oil creams include the raw material in their predominant fatty phase, so the product forms the base of their semi-solid structure. Alongside creams, the raw material is included in oleogels for external use, where the gelling agent binds the fatty phase into a gel. The creams combine blueberry oil with lanolin and beeswax. Oleogels for external use employ the oil as an excipient of their fatty phase, which also carries the active ingredients.

Storage

Store organic refined blueberry seed carrier oil in a dark, cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Maintain a temperature of +5°C to +20°C to prevent oxidation and changes in quality. After opening, limit the amount of air in the container. As the contents decrease, transfer the remaining oil to a smaller, clean and dry bottle. Use only aluminium or glass bottles, preferably dark glass, which protects the oil from light. Close tightly after each use to prevent air and moisture from entering. Following these conditions preserves the quality and safety of the product for longer.
