Description
We present organic anise hydrolate for aromatherapy, obtained from the plant of the species Illicium Verum. The liquid bears the name Aniseed organic hydrolat. The name designates a product whose raw material is limited to the fruit of the plant. The fruit forms on a species of the Apiaceae family, whose members have hollow grooved stems and leaves with a widened base that clasps the stem. The stems grow in Bulgaria, where cultivation is organic and excludes synthetic agents along with mineral feeding. Organic cultivation preserves the natural ratio of the volatile constituents in the fruit. The constituents pass into the aqueous phase during extraction with steam and form the scent there. The scent maintains medium strength, with the herbal line leading and the floral tinge appearing later. The herbal line rests on the light water-soluble compounds, while the heavier volatile substances remain outside the aqueous medium and do not take part in the olfactory profile. The olfactory profile belongs to a clear liquid with a color between colorless and pale yellow. The pale tone comes from the few coloring compounds that pass into the distillate. The distillate has an entirely organic composition, since it contains only the distilled water and the volatile substances of the fruit dissolved in it. Preservatives and colorants are absent from it, so the entire sensation comes solely from the plant raw material. The plant raw material and organic cultivation determine the purity of the liquid, while the aqueous medium gives the scent softness and an even development to the very end. The softness persists throughout the entire volume, and in addition, the liquid retains its transparency when viewed in daylight. The anise fruit remains the only source of the herbal character in this liquid.
Application
Anise hydrolate finds diverse application in aromatherapy and in everyday care for body and mind. It can be incorporated into air freshening sprays for the home, the office and relaxation rooms, as well as into diffuser blends that create a calm atmosphere and make falling asleep easier. It is suitable for light aromatic mists for pillows and textiles, as well as for waters used during meditation and yoga practices, where the soft herbal aroma supports concentration and inner balance. In a spa setting, it is applied during massages and relaxing treatments, complementing aromatic baths and shower sprays with its delicate anise note. Cosmetic use includes refreshing facial sprays and skin and hair waters, which tone and give a feeling of freshness. The hydrolate is also a suitable ingredient for aroma lamps, inhalation solutions to support breathing and blends aimed at reducing tension and mental fatigue, while its compact packaging makes it convenient for refreshing while traveling. It is successfully included in home relaxation rituals and in ready-made relaxation kits, combining well with other floral waters in shared aromatic compositions.
Storage
Store organic anise hydrolate in a dark, cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Maintain a temperature of +4°C to +10°C to limit the growth of microorganisms. After opening, use the contents within 6 to 12 months and limit the amount of air in the container. Use only aluminum or glass bottles for aromatherapy products, preferably dark glass, which protect the aromatherapy hydrolate from light. Close tightly after each use to prevent air and contaminants from entering. Observing these conditions preserves the freshness and quality of the product for a longer period.
