Description

We present natural anise hydrolate for perfumery, whose raw material comes from the species Pimpinella anisum. The product is known as Aniseed natural hydrolate for perfumery and is obtained from the fruit of the plant. The fruit is the only plant material involved in obtaining the product. In the Apiaceae family, the volatile substances accumulate in secretory canals located in the fruit wall between its ribs. The canals develop in the fruit of a plant that grows in Bulgaria, where cultivation takes place without chemical protective agents and without artificial fertilization. The absence of chemical intervention is evident in the entirely natural composition. The composition includes no preservatives and contains no colorants, since only the distilled aqueous phase goes into the liquid. The aqueous phase looks clear and takes on a color from colorless to pale yellow. The faint coloration comes from the low content of coloring substances in the distillate. The distillate reveals a scent of medium strength in which the herbal side leads, while the floral side is perceived later and remains discreet until the end. The scent maintains a discreet development, because the aqueous medium carries only the light soluble constituents of the fruit. The aqueous medium is formed during steam distillation, and this method leaves in the liquid only the fleeting volatile constituents. In addition, the method gives the profile a purity that goes hand in hand with the natural origin of the raw material. The natural origin covers the entire liquid, because it contains only substances that passed from the fruit into the steam during extraction. The anise fruit remains the source of the herbal side of the scent, while the liquid retains only its light, water-soluble part.

Application
Anise hydrolate is used in perfumery as an aromatic ingredient with a slightly sweet and herbal character. It contributes to building aromatic compositions and eaux de toilette, where it adds a fresh anise nuance and emphasizes the herbal profile of the composition. It is suitable for women's and men's fragrances as well as for unisex products in which a soft and delicate spicy tone is sought. In refreshing body mists and hair sprays, it imparts a light sweetness and a feeling of freshness, while in essences and extracts it complements warm oriental notes. The ingredient is also suitable for deodorants, in which it provides a pleasant aroma and long-lasting freshness. In niche and boutique collections, the hydrolate is valued for its characteristic green accent, which gives a recognizable profile to evening and limited editions. Besides classic fragrance forms, it is also incorporated into body products with an aromatic finish, such as lotions, creams, balms and shower gels, which harmonize with the chosen fragrance and prolong its presence on the skin. It is also used in sprays for refreshing clothes, skin and hair, where the light herbal aroma creates a feeling of cleanliness and comfort throughout the day.
