Description

We offer natural anise hydrolate for cosmetics, obtained from the plant with the botanical name Illicium Verum. In international practice, the product is referred to as Aniseed natural hydrolat. The product is a clear liquid whose color ranges from colorless to a pale yellow shade. The pale coloration reveals a low content of coloring substances in the aqueous phase. The aroma of the liquid is of medium strength and combines a herbal character with a floral tinge that can be perceived in the background of the scent. The herbal line defines the leading impression of the distillate. The distillate owes this character to the fruit, which is the only part of the plant used. In members of the Apiaceae family, the fruit is dry and splits into two parts upon ripening, each of which bears one seed. The fruits come from Bulgaria, where the plantations are cultivated naturally, without synthetic agents and without mineral fertilizers. The raw material from these plantations yields a composition that remains entirely natural. It contains no preservatives or colorants, which is why the aromatic profile is due solely to the plant material. The aromatic profile takes shape during steam distillation, which transfers only the soluble volatile substances into the aqueous phase. It is precisely the soluble part that gives the liquid softness and determines its unobtrusive development. The softness remains perceptible throughout the scent, as the herbal base does not assert itself sharply. The anise fruit determines the plant origin of the distillate and remains its only source of scent.

Application
Anise hydrolate is widely used as an aqueous phase and an aromatizing ingredient in cosmetic products for the face, body and hair. It is suitable for toners and aromatic facial waters that refresh the skin, as well as for micellar waters, cleansing gels and foams for gentle daily cleansing. In day and night creams, serums and face masks, it adds a light herbal aroma and complements the moisturizing action of the formula, while in products for the eye contour area and for sensitive skin it is valued for its delicate character. Refreshing facial sprays and mists with anise are a convenient way to tone the skin during the day. In body care, the hydrolate can be included in lotions, milks, oils and balms, as well as in hand and foot creams, to which it gives a sweet anise note. It is also suitable for shower gels, soaps and exfoliants, as well as for shaving gels and aftershave lotions, where it refreshes the skin. In hair products, including shampoos, conditioners, masks and serums, it contributes to a pleasant aroma and a feeling of freshness. It can also be used in sunscreen creams and after-sun lotions, as well as in lip balms with a sweet note.

Storage

Store natural anise hydrolate in a dark, cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Maintain a temperature of +4°C to +10°C to limit the growth of microorganisms. After opening, use the contents within 6 to 12 months and limit the amount of air in the container. Use only aluminum or glass bottles for cosmetic products, preferably dark glass, which protect the hydrolate for cosmetics from light. Close tightly after each use to prevent air and contaminants from entering. Observing these conditions preserves the freshness and quality of the product for a longer period.
